A zoo with over 400 animals

Mammals, birds, reptiles – these are the animals you will have the opportunity to observe in their enclosures at the Fréjus Zoo.

As you stroll through the paths, you will encounter a variety of very different species from each other. From fennecs with pointed ears that form an inseparable couple, flamingos gracefully moving in flocks, llamas sharing their enclosure with impressive lions, European wolves cohabiting with two Bengal tiger brothers, to Grant’s zebras galloping as a family and white-fronted Amazon parrots brightening the space with their vivid colors.

At the Fréjus Zoo, you will also see amphibious hippos sharing a beautiful friendship, a leopard whose poise catches the eye, and chimpanzees playing as a family in their enclosure.

The Fréjus Zoological Park is a true crossroads of biodiversity where every encounter is a delight! Moreover, it is one of the best family activities to do in Fréjus.

Educational activities for all ages

An information board greets you upon arrival to guide you on the educational programs of the Fréjus Zoo, the schedules, and the specific locations of activities.

From the early hours of the day, the keepers are busy ensuring the comfort and health of their protected animals. Take advantage of their educational sessions to better understand the ecosystem around us and enrich your knowledge of the fauna.

These moments, designed for the whole family and adapted for children, provide the opportunity to interact directly with the keepers and discover anecdotes about the animals. The keepers will reveal dietary habits, behaviors, and the evolution of different species. The team members at the Fréjus Zoo are indeed full of interesting facts about the animals, their favorite foods, their preferred games, and their best companions. If you visit the zoo during feeding times, you can watch the animals being fed live in their enclosures. All this makes it one of the best family activities to do in the Var.

The botanical area of the Fréjus Zoological Park

At the Fréjus Zoo, you will not only admire the fauna but also the flora! Indeed, a green haven, the Mediterranean Haven, awaits visitors.

  • Laurels with persistent leaves.
  • Strawberries, promising sweet and juicy fruits.
