Every year in spring, Cannes becomes the world capital of cinema. If the international film festival is held in Cannes since 1946 it’s not by accident.
Indeed, in the early days of silent movies, the French Riviera and cinema where inseparable.
Idyllic, mild winters, the number of sunny days, the beauty of the Mediterranean and its sublime villas and hotels. Sumptuous landscapes and remarkable natural light attracted the filmmakers to the côte d’Azur and deemed it the ” Hollywood Riviera”. Thus, generations of filmmakers and actors have succeeded on the French Riviera.
A privileged witness to this love story of filmmaking, Cannes will host in 2016, the 69th edition of the festival of Cannes, from May 11th to 22nd. It is the largest film market in the world and the most glamorous showcases of world cinema. To delve into this movie atmosphere, nothing better than strolling along the Croisette, along the beach, palm trees, luxury boutiques and luxury hotels. Slip yur head into one of the numerous cutouts of cinematic characters along the Croisette. At the end of the Croisette, the Palais des Festivals and its 24 steps are waiting for a guided tour (ask at the tourist office). Outside, you can have fun putting your hands in the 400 handprints of the stars on the walk of fame. Strolling through the streets of downtown cannes, discover some 15 murals that cover the facades of buildings with the effigy of Marylin, Charlie Chaplin, Gérard Philippe, Jean Gabin or Humphrey Bogart.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
